A Goofed and a Giveaway

This block of Dear Jane, B-2 Sweet Tater Pie, was forgotten. I finished handpiecing this little cutie before Mother's Day weekend but forgot all about it due to the river trip.

So here it is... but there's one problem... I goofed! This little block took a bit longer for me to piece because it was my first time handpiecing with curves... so it will remains as is!

This post is also marked as my 98th of this blog! Just two posts away from that 100th mark! I recently visited a few blogs that are having giveaways so thought I might give it try. I don't know what I'm giving away yet, but for sure, it will be quilty related and fabrics. I will try to come up with something by my 100th post.

So all you have to do to get a chance to win something from me is to leave a comment on this post.... be sure to leave me an addy if you are set to "no reply". An extra bonus -- if you can tell me in the comment of what is the goofed of this block, I will add your name to the pot for an extra chance of winning.

If you need help with the goofed, click here to compare with this block. Need more help, then click here to look at Anina's block.... just scroll down to the bottom of the post.

I think it looks great...the only thing I can see is that your light and dark are the opposite of the others...if there is anything else I can't see it! SMILE!

I'm with Andee here - are your darks and lights reversed. No matter. I'm so impressed with anyone who's even attempting the Dear Jane blocks.

Ya know what? A lot of us switched the light and the dark.If you don't tell then I won't either. We need to pay more attention to that and use the mirror aspect in EQ.But I love your block regardless. Congratulations on your 100th.

Yep, the colors are the only goof I can see and I don't consider that a goof. It's a design opportunity...you're making the quilt your own! :o)

Congrats on almost making it to 100 posts...lol:).

Thanx for an opportunity to win!

Rhonda, it looks wonderful even if the lights and darks are reversed. I'm sure I have blocks where I did the same thing, but nobody will know in the end. Congratulations on 100 posts!

The only thing I see is that the lights and darks are reversed but that's totally not a "goof", just a personal preference. :-)

Goof or not, it is a very pretty block. Contratulations on nearing 100 posts!

I like the block as is. with equal distribution of light and dark in this block, I don't believe it matters. And in the end it is small things like this that will make the quilt uniquely yours. I used three kinds of fabric in my version of this block.

Those Dear Jane blocks are so intimidating to me! Good for you for trying to master them.

Hi Rhonda!

Congratulations on your almost 100 post. I'm looking forward to another 100. I think you flipped the 4 squares around causing a different color contrast. I really like your style. In my eyes, there are no mistakes; only a new creation...maybe call yours "Sweet Treat Pie" (Treat is tater mixed up). Love ya!

Like the others, the only thing different I see is that the lights and darks are swithced. I hadn't even thought of paying attention to that. I think it looks fantastic. I love seeing your two, drastically different quilts come together. Have a great weekend! Love Stacy

Like many others the only goof I could see was the lights and darks being mixed up. I had to check out all three blocks to figure it out!

Wow I am impressed, your block is awesome, and if the lights and darks are flipped..ah well...no problem...
it is very well done, I just dont seem to have the patience to try, but I am looking for stress reducer hand work to do next year during my prep times ...I am a brand new teacher...at the ripe age of 50!!
you have inspired me with your hand work..maybe I will give it a try, and then just package up some little kits of different blocks to take to school with me..

I don't see a goof. Is it perhaps slightly off center. That could just be the picture. Anyway, it looks great to me!! Susan

ongratulations! Can't wait until I reach my 100th post. I'm half-way there. Love your give-aways! Love your doxies. I have a red smooth coat doxie who I call my sewing dog. He guards my sewing room door :) He loves sleeping under my quilts.

Step 4 and 5 took me a long time. I have to pin too. I did that in the evenings while I sat with my husband who loves to watch TV. Your blocks are great. Keep plugging away.

Take care!

Congratulations on your 100th post. I'm not quite to 100 yet, but I guess I'd better start giving it some thought. It is such a nice thing to do.

I wouldn't call it a mistake...just being creative! The background and main colors are just flip-flopped from the original. It looks great...very precise! I'm looking forward to seeing your fabric choices for the 2 color quilt challenge. Congrats on your 100th post!
